Goportis competition to win entry to the "Open Access and Open Data"

From the 10th to 15th August 2010, around 3,500 information specialists from 128 countries got together at the 76th IFLA Congress in Gothenburg, Sweden with the theme "Open Access to Knowledge – promoting sustainable progress".
An exhibition accompanied the congress, giving Goportis the opportunity to present its activities in the areas of open access, full text provision, long-term archiving and non-textual materials.

The Goportis quiz puzzle was a big attraction. By finding the correct puzzle piece, participants had the opportunity to win a ticket to the Goportis expert conference "Open Access and Open Data" on the 13th and 14th December 2010 in Cologne. An IFLA delegate from Great Britain was the lucky winner. As well as free entry to the conference, she also won a night at the Hyatt hotel in Cologne.

Goportis hosts an expert conference every year as one of its fields of expertise.

Expert conference 2010 "Open Access - Open Data"

Experts will be discussing "Open Access and Open Data" in Cologne.
Six years after the first Open Access conference in Cologne, the task at this year's gathering is to sum up development so far and set out the challenges for the next ten years. Another issue for discussion will be the increasingly important open data movement.
