| Deutschland. Im Rahmen des Großprojekts 2. S-Bahn-Stammstrecke München hat die Deutsche Bahn Anfang April 2025 die Vergabeeinheit 733 Tunnel Ostbahnhof an die ARGE Tunnel Ostbahnhof vergeben, an der Implenia und Hochtief zu je 50 % beteiligt sind.

| Deutschland. Im Zuge des Bahnprojekts Stuttgart–Ulm wird der gesamte Bahnknoten Stuttgart neu geordnet. Mit der Inbetriebnahme des Projekts wird die über 100 Jahre alte Fernbahnröhre des Pragtunnels entbehrlich. Mit dem Projekt P-Option (Prag-Option) wird unter Nutzung dieses Tunnels zusätzlich eine neue zweigleisige Verbindung zwischen dem Stuttgarter Hauptbahnhof und der Strecke 4800 in Feuerbach geschaffen.

| Germany. As part of the Stuttgart–Ulm railway project, the entire Stuttgart rail hub is being reorganised. With the start of operation of the project, the long-distance railway tube of the Prague Tunnel, which is over 100 years old, will become dispensable. The P-Option (Prag-Option) project will also use this tunnel to create a new double-track connection between Stuttgart Central Station and the 4800 line in Feuerbach.

| Deutschland. Die Verlängerung der Frankfurter U-Bahn-Linie 5 schreitet zügig voran: Eine rund 2750 m lange Stadtbahntrasse wird das Europaviertel mit dem bestehenden U-Bahn-Netz verbinden. Nachdem im November 2024 die finale Betonage der Bauwerkssohle der künftigen Tiefstation Güterplatz abgeschlossen wurde, konnte Mitte Februar 2025 die erste Steifenlage (C-Lage) in der Baugrube bereits zwei Wochen früher als geplant zurückgebaut werden.

The extension of Frankfurt's underground line 5 is making rapid progress: an approximately 2750 m long light rail line will connect the Europaviertel district with the existing underground network. After the final concreting of the base of the future Güterplatz underground station was completed in November 2024, the first bracing level (C level) in the excavation pit was dismantled two weeks earlier than planned in mid-February 2025.

| Deutschland. Der Betonbau zählt zu den größten Verursachern von Treibhausgasemissionen im Bausektor. Tunnelbauwerke, die einen wesentlichen Bestandteil der Eisenbahninfrastruktur bilden, tragen dabei mit etwa 9 % zu den Gesamtemissionen pro Gleiskilometer der Deutschen Bahn bei und gehören somit zu den emissionsintensivsten Ingenieurbauwerken. Ende Februar 2025 fand ein interdisziplinärer Workshop am Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT) statt, bei dem 55 Expertinnen und Experten aus Forschung, Planung, Baupraxis, Behörden und Fachverbänden zusammenkamen, um innovative Ansätze für eine umwelt- und klimafreundlichere Betonbauweise zu diskutieren.

| Germany. Concrete construction is one of the largest greenhouse gas emitters in the construction sector. Tunnels form an essential part of the railroad infrastructure and account for around 9% of the total emissions per kilometre of track used by Deutsche Bahn. This makes them one of the biggest emitters in civil engineering. At the end of February 2025, an interdisciplinary workshop was held at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), bringing together 55 experts from research, planning, construction practice, authorities and professional associations to discuss innovative approaches for more environmentally and climate-friendly concrete construction.
