DAAD is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2025. Since 1925, the DAAD has supported around three million students and academics around the world. The anniversary year is going to highlight the importance of international scientific cooperation in times of geopolitical crises and upheaval. There will be numerous events and activities in Germany and abroad, including the issue of a special postage stamp by the Federal Ministry of Finance. Follow the year's activities via the anniversary website and the anniversary Instagram channel (@100YearsDAAD). The website also features stories from past and present scholarship holders that show how academic exchange shapes individual careers while contributing to social change.

Uddipta Raj Deka Master: Culture and Media Studies My current studies in Hochschule Darmstadt now focus on areas like 360° full-dome film-making, 3D Spatial Sound Wave (SSW) compositions, media laws, and creative coding. My journey to Germany for my Master’s has been full of memorable experiences—from the warmth of strangers to the beauty of German orderliness. The diverse community and the emphasis on punctuality have taught me a lot more in a short time.

Antara Sadhu Master: Life Sciences Studying & living in Germany has been an incredibly enriching experience, both academically & personally. I won’t lie—the winter was quite harsh, but as the Germans say, “There is no bad weather, only bad clothes!” From the initial stages of applying for the APS certificate to receiving my visa approval, I have been supported by a diverse network of individuals. Now, I hope to be that person for someone else!
