From Prayagraj to Pune and Hyderabad: Germany’s Interest in Higher Education Cooperation is Growing

© DAAD
The first quarter of the year has seen significant momentum in Indo-German academic cooperation, with the DAAD Regional Office New Delhi playing a key role in facilitating these exchanges. In February, the DAAD supported a high-level delegation of 15 presidents and vice-presidents from Universities of Applied Sciences in Baden-Württemberg during their visit to Pune and Mumbai. To ensure a well-informed exchange, the DAAD provided extensive briefings on the Indian higher education landscape and co-hosted one-on-one meetings with representatives from ten Indian higher education institutions, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education of Baden-Württemberg. Meanwhile, a delegation from Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM) with more than ten members traveled to Prayagraj for in-depth discussions with their Indian partners.

Masters, Human Biology
Deciding to study in Germany and taking the first step towards starting one’s educational journey may seem daunting at first; it certainly was for me. However, taking this first step proved to be one of the most prudent decisions for my studies. Therefore, I am motivated to provide guidance and accurate information to the ones who need it. Being a DAAD Young Ambassador gives me a platform to help and encourage aspiring students to figure out the best fit for their academic careers.

Sidharth Singh
Masters, Management and Technology
Many newcomers are intimidated by challenges during the initial settling-in period or may face significant culture shocks at any point in this period – this is why I wanted to be a DAAD Young Ambassador. I want to help incoming students or professionals wherever I can with their journey coming to Germany, and be a point of contact to make this transition more seamless.
