iHED: Internationalisation at Indian Higher Education Institutions

© DAAD ASND
The DAAD iHED Workshop on “Internationalisation at Indian Higher Education Institutions – Cooperation Management and Strategic Partnerships” was successfully held on 8–9 September 2026 at IIT Kharagpur, in cooperation with its Office of International Relations and as part of IIT Kharagpur’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The two-day workshop brought together representatives of international offices from Indian higher education institutions and DAAD alumni. Through expert inputs, good-practice examples, interactive discussions and group activities, participants explored strategic internationalisation, cooperation management, DAAD funding opportunities, project development and future cooperation opportunities. The workshop focused on structures of internationalisation, implementing cooperation contracts, and managing international projects, with a special emphasis on fostering collaborations with Germany. The workshop offered the opportunity to expand knowledge on international cooperation, to learn from peers and to network with other higher education institutions.

The engaging exchange of experiences and ideas provided valuable opportunities for peer learning, networking and strengthening Indo-German academic cooperation.

Meet Young Working Professionals in Germany

I am Siddharth Pachpor, currently pursuing a full-time MBA at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. My journey taught me that growth happens where comfort ends. Education in Germany is more about becoming part of a global, diverse community where you’re encouraged to question, collaborate, and contribute. I want to share this journey with students who may feel uncertain about starting over in a new culture.

I’m Raj Prasad Rauniyar. I am currently pursuing my Master’s at the Technical University of Darmstadt. During my studies I gained industry insight working with Deutsche Börse and Bird & Bird. Each role taught me something different. Those experiences made me a better student and a more resilient person. I’m keen to help students translate their academic choices into career momentum!
