| German Studies in India and Sri Lanka - Workshops | | | | |

The workshops focused on offering promising future prospects for German teacher training at universities in India and Sri Lanka. Dhoch3 Workshop (8 - 10 August) : Dhoch3 is a Moodle-based teaching and learning platform whose content is designed and continuously developed by professors at German universities together with international partners. For this three-day training course more than 30 professors and teachers of German Studies from 20 institutions came together at IIT Bombay and discussed “Regional and Cultural Studies in German as Foreign Studies”. DAAD-GI Exploratory Workshop (12 - 13 August): A joint initiative by the DAAD India and the Goethe-Institut India brought together Indian and German partner universities for a pilot project aimed at establishing qualification standards of German teacher training at Indian universities. The workshop took place in New Delhi with deliberations and discussions by a team of experts on creating a sustainable training framework and qualification for teaching of ‘German as Foreign language (GFL)’ at Indian universities. | | | | | | |

The DAAD has interesting funding options: Study Visits for Academics - Artists and Architects: This programme aims to promote artistic cooperation with German host institutions in the fields of architecture, fine art, film, design, visual communication, performing arts and music. Re-Invitation Programme for Former Scholarship Holders: This programme aims to enable former DAAD scholarship holders to carry out research and working projects in Germany and to maintain contacts as part of DAAD’s global alumni network. Research Stays for University Academics and Scientists: This programme aims to support short-term research stays and thus promote the exchange of experience and networking amongst colleagues.

The Land of Ideas has interesting funding options available: Doctoral Programmes in Germany: The programme provides funding for a doctoral project at a state or state-recognised institution of higher education or a non-university research institute in Germany. Bi-nationally Supervised Doctoral Degrees / Cotutelle: This programme offers you the opportunity to do a bi-national doctoral degree at your home university and at a university in Germany. Research Grants in Germany: The research grant offers the opportunity to realise a research project in Germany. The programme supports research stays during a doctorate or in the early postdoc phase.
