India welcomes over 80 German Universities in DAAD's 65th Year Jubilee
This month over 80 German institutions of higher education and research are visiting India. These institutions will be engaged in high level visits to Indian universities and research institutions, the inauguration of the German School of Technology at PSG College of Technology, in Coimbatore, the APAIE Conference 2025, the Indo-German Forum: Research, Innovation and Transfer and the DAAD Jubilee Celebrations in New Delhi, in the presence of the German Ambassador Dr Philipp Ackermann. The first in this exceptional lineup is the Higher Education Policy Information visit in Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad, IIIT Hyderabad, University of Hyderabad, CSIR institutions - CCMB, IICT and NGRI) and New Delhi (IIT Delhi, Ashoka University) from 16 March to 22 March 2025. The other visits and interactions covered include TERI School of Advanced Studies, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Shiv Nadar University and Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies. “The Indo-German partnership in science and education is stronger than ever. It is one of the building blocks of our bilateral ties. We have almost 50,000 Indian students in Germany, the largest group of foreign students from any country. Indian scientists are contributing to our research landscape, with their talents, their ambitions, and their discoveries. It is pleasure to see this exchange grow so dynamically, from year to year,” says Philipp Ackermann, German Ambassador to India and Bhutan.

Rutuja Ramesh Sakore Masters, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology Education in Germany is highly practical, which has been beneficial for me. I completed 3 lab-based internships, which helped me secure my job. There are numerous scholarships available for Master’s students. Some universities also offer Innovation and Startup Centers, which support students in developing ideas and building business models. Furthermore, there are opportunities to apply for a semester abroad, allowing students to explore and learn in different environments.
