|
The DAAD successfully hosted a two-day iHED workshop on “Internationalisation at Indian Higher Education Institutions – Cooperation Management” at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) on 10 & 11 April 2025. Tailored for representatives, heads and deans of international offices and relations at Indian HEIs, the workshop welcomed participants from a diverse mix of institutions – state universities, IITs, autonomous colleges and private universities across India. The workshop created a dynamic platform for dialogue on Indo-German cooperation. Through interactive sessions, peer learning and case studies, participants explored key aspects of international cooperation including various funding avenues, cooperation management, good practices, project development and project monitoring equipping participants with tools to set SMART objectives, apply results-based frameworks and monitor project outcomes effectively. Ghayathri Suriyamoorthy Engineering, Working Professional I studied MSc Electrical Engineering at University of Stuttgart. Since completing of my education I’ve been also working in Germany as an engineer. Life in Germany has been an incredible adventure. I’ve learned a ton, but more importantly, I’ve made lifelong friends from all around the world. Experiencing such diverse perspectives and being immersed in a hands-on learning environment has helped me grow in ways I never thought possible.

Rupaningal Vishwa Priya Dilhara De Silva Engineering, Bachelors One of the highlights of Germany thus far is the fact that government-funded universities are offering a high-quality education. Learning environments are created by providing facilities with state-of-the-art technologies and professors with vast experience, although professors are learned and accessible, which makes an academic journey very smooth and rewarding.

Manas Tripathi Engineering, Intern My journey to Germany began with an internship at the University of Applied Sciences Osnabrück, where I had the unique opportunity to work on environmental measurement devices. What made this experience so special was seeing how theory comes alive through practical applications. Germany’s approach to education is genuinely unique. It’s about taking on real-world challenges rather than just learning in the classroom.
