Newsletter October 2025

Dear reader,

It’s no longer news that climate change is already in full action. In order to reduce our carbon footprint and minimise the damage we inflict on our planet, scientists around the globe are working on new methods of generating, storing and transporting energy.

This transformation is also in full swing in Germany. The Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) invests more than 700 million euros each year in energy, climate and sustainability research. Whether it’s hydrogen, fusion, solar and wind power, batteries or geothermal energy – Germany offers world-leading research into the energy of the future. Discover some of the country’s most important institutions, networks and research news in this issue of our newsletter!

PS Once again, we invite you, our readers, to decide on the spotlight topic for the December issue. Cast your vote in the “Your turn!” section!
