| | | Dear Sir or Madam,
| The Techtextil & Texprocess in Frankfurt/Germany, the ITMA 2019 in Barcelona/Spain and the A+A 2019 in Düsseldorf/Germany are undoubtedly next year's trade fair highlights. With around 5 month to go, the Techtextil is almost fully booked. The number of registrations received is well above that of previous editions. Next year there will be a significant increase in exhibitors in the fields Technology and Fibers & Yarns. In addition to innovations, the topics of digitalization and industry 4.0 are covered in detail and we are sure that we will be impressed by some exhibits − we are looking forward to the new and exciting developments in the coming year! We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Successful Year 2019.

| ITA: MoonFibre – fibers made of moon basalt | |
| In the MoonFibre project, in which the Institute for Textile Technology (ITA) and the Institute for Structure and Lightweight Construction at RWTH Aachen University/Germany, are the main partners, fibers are to be produced directly from moon basalt. Thus, components made of basalt fiber-reinforced lunar concrete or textiles that shield the space radiation could be produced directly. This eliminates the high transport costs to the moon. An experiment cube sent to the International Space Station (ISS) will be used to investigate how textile fibers can be spun from moon stones in space without earth gravitation. Other industrial partners are also being sought for this project.
