Trends in light measurement technology
In all aspects of life, classical light sources are now being replaced by SSL sources (solid state lighting). The latter enjoy widespread use not only in general lighting, but also in street lighting or as growth-stimulating light in plant cultivation (urban farming, multi-layer cultivation). In the development and production of luminaires it is crucial to accurately determine their angle-dependent spatial radiation properties with a view to suitable and eco-friendly applications. The LGS 650 goniophotometer was expecially developed for the analysis of mid- to large-sized SSL sources and LED modules.
Besides SSL sources, laser sources (VCSELs) are growing in importance in scientific and high-tech applications – and meanwhile also in the field of sensing and lighting. These light sources are used, for example, in structure and surface analysis in medical and industrial applications. A high-resolution spectroradiometer, e.g. CAS140CT-HR, is required for the absolute characterization of these narrow band emission sources.
Both products can be experienced live at our booth A3/443 at electronica 2018:

New, low-cost solution for medium-sized to large SSL products: the LGS 650 Goniophotometer was developed for determining the angle spatial radiation properties of medium-sized to large SSL luminaires and LED modules. A new feature is the extended swivel arm for picking up samples with a maximum size of up to 1.30 m and a weight of 10 kg.
LumiTop 4000: Higher resolution for better displays

The newly developed, spectrally enhanced LumiTop 4000 imaging colorimeter provides an effective resolution of 4096 x 3000 pixels (12 megapixels). It is based on the proven technology of the LumiTop 2700 with the following product highlights:
\\ 2D measurements with extremely high measurement accuracy due to the connected high-end CAS 140CT/D reference spectroradiometer
\\ 3-in-1 system with RGB-CCD camera, flicker diode, spectroradiometer
\\ Easy integration into production lines
\\ Various user-friendly analysis options
Seminar: Light and display measurement technology

For the 4th time in succession, Instrument Systems is offering a two-day light measurement technology seminar with lectures and live demos from 26–27 November 2018. Our experienced product specialists will be providing hands-on advice on a broad spectrum of measurement methods for LEDs, luminaires and displays. An emphasis will be placed on the current challenges to be met on a daily basis in the laboratory, quality assurance and production. If you wish to receive qualified professional training, secure your place today!
We look forward to your attendance and entering into interesting discussions!
