Dear Sir or Madam,

This year’s pandemic has had a huge effect on logistics – and on leadership. Logistics has been making headlines, and companies have either had to reorganize their supply chains or create new ones, sometimes in an ad hoc fashion. Working from home and remote leadership have become the “new normal.”

In 2020, we have experienced what a VUCA world feels like—volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous. More than ever, this underscores Prof. Dr. h.c. Klaus-Michael Kühne’s aspirations. Ten years ago, the entrepreneur and educational patron founded KLU in Hamburg as a university for up-and-coming leaders of logistics. KLU’s research-based educations programs prepare our students for a VUCA world, and herein lies our contribution during this global health and economic crisis. Today, more than 700 KLU degree graduates are pursuing outstanding careers in the logistics industry and other sectors, but also as entrepreneurs or in non-profit organizations.

2020 also marks an anniversary for us. In this issue, we present to you highlights of our ten years of award-winning teaching and research in logistics and management.

I would like to wish you all the best for 2021 as we usher out the current year and prepare for the next.

Stay healthy and stay tuned at KLU!

Yours truly,

Thomas Strothotte
KLU President

PS: According to ZEIT’s recent CHE ranking, our logistics and management master’s programs put us among the top German business schools and economic faculties. Are you looking for fresh talent? Then why not browse through 2020’s graduates in our KLU CV book.
