Dear Sir or Madam,

The pressure for the ecological modernization of the economy is building and has become a source of heated debate within the logistics community. Intelligent solutions for reducing emissions are needed from single shipments to complete supply chains. We have therefore joined forces with Kühne+Nagel in setting up an independent Research Center for Sustainable Logistics and Supply Chains. We at KLU look forward to working on projects with companies along the entire supply chain.

In my new role as Dean of Research, I am pleased to announce more good news. We welcome Marcos Ritel, Ph. D.  as newly appointed Assistant Professor for International Trade. His addition will broaden the spectrum of our professional knowledge.

My own research focuses on humanitarian logistics, which is core to all assistance interventions in acute crises worldwide. If you are interested in how research improves the impact of humanitarian logistics, watch my video and please do not hesitate to contact me.

Furthermore this edition: Adhoc Supply Chains as Response to COVID-19 and our interview with Robert Dohrendorf, CEO of the routing company Graphmasters.

Wishing you happy reading and a healthy fall season,

Sincerely,

Professor Dr.  Maria Besiou
Professor of Humanitarian Logistics, Dean of Research
